Design Technology

At Trumpington Park Primary, Design and Technology (DT) is practical, creative and purposeful.

We inspire our learners to think critically: asking ‘why’ and ‘how'; design with confidence; solve problems or scenarios inspired by real-life; and make meaningful links to other curriculum areas.

In DT, we use a clear process to create:

- Plan

- Research and Design

- Build, Make and Adapt

- Review, Analyse and Evaluate

Learners develop technical skills, resilience and independence through working alone, in groups or pairs. Together, they learn to take risks, justify their ideas and reflect thoughtfully to improve their work.

Our curriculum nurtures resourceful, innovative learners who understand the impact of design and technology on everyday life and the wider world, preparing them to contribute positively to their community and beyond.
