Late/Absence Procedures

The school gates open at 8:30am when children enter school and complete important morning work. The school day starts at 8:45am when the register is taken. If your child arrives after 8:45am they must enter through the School Office.

Please remember that lateness is classed as an absence and will affect your child's attendance.  The School Office will call if your child is absent without a reason.

If your child is not at school, please let the office know as soon as possible. The School Office will call you if we do not know why your child is not at school.

Arriving and Leaving School

Children in Reception enter the school through the gate which is around the side of the school.    Parents are very welcome to accompany them in the first few days, after which we encourage them to be left at the black gates.  Scooters and bikes can be left in the bike rack next to the gate.

Years 1 to 6 enter school through the playground gates, close to the School Office.  We ask that Key Stage 1 and 2 children are left at the black gates and any messages be given to the staff member who is welcoming the children in to school.  All classes go directly to their classroom doors.  Any bikes or scooters can be left in the large bike shelter in the main playground.

At the end of the day Reception, Year 1 and 2 children are dismissed from their classroom doors.  KS2 children are brought to the main playground of the school to be dismissed to their parents/carers. Children will only be handed to the adult responsible for collection. Please ensure that the school is informed if someone else is picking your child up from school. If, for any reason, a parent has not arrived to collect their child, the child will return to school with their teacher who will then contact the parent.

In the case of an emergency, please let the school know by telephone if you are going to be delayed at the end of school or if someone else is going to collect your child.
