SEND
At Trumpington Park Primary School, we are dedicated to being an inclusive school; to make all of our children feel welcome and happy. Within our diverse community we celebrate difference and acknowledge that all children develop differently. We are highly committed to creating a stimulating learning experience that is adapted and inclusive of all children; to ensure that every child reaches their full potential; emerging from school with a life-long love of learning and knowledge of the wider world, so they can continue to grow and succeed.
Children, at some time in their school career, may have special educational needs of some kind. The difficulties a child may experience can vary and may occur in several areas. Some children will need help and support all the time that they are at school, while other children may only need help for a short time.
At Trumpington Park Primary School, we provide a graduated response to children’s needs, which begins with quality first teaching. This approach ensures that reasonable adjustments and adaptions are part of a fluid approach to SEND, with early identification and support from the Inclusion Team. Where a child is identified as having a special educational need, a member of the Inclusion Team will work closely with child, parent/carer, and class teacher to discuss the support options that are available.
The Inclusion Team at Trumpington Park is led by Mrs Jo Crisford, SENDCo and Mrs Yarrow, Assistant Head. Other members of the Inclusion Team include:
Mrs Gemma Boudali - SENDCo Assistant and Welfare Officer
Miss Becca Doggett - SENDCo Assistant and Welfare Officer
Mrs Angie Waterson – Welfare Officer
Mrs Sarah Sparrow – SEND Teaching Assistant
In addition, we have 12 dedicated teaching assistants who support children across different year groups.
If you have any concerns about your child, please contact their class teacher in the first instance, who will then discuss your concerns with the schools SENDCo.
